It happens to all of us. We misplace, lose, and have things ‘moved’ without our knowledge on a regular basis. Sometimes, mom cleans your room and places your wallet on the shelf next to Ezio’s Statue. Other times, a good night out leaves you wondering where your keys are, let alone the name of the mysterious person on your couch. Well, whatever way you manage to misplace your items, this Winter you’ll have a slick way of finding them.

Introducing Tile, the small GPS device that can fit or stick nearly anywhere. Purses, wallets, keys, cars, small electronics, pets, and much more can all be found easily if lost or misplaced. Do you have a propensity for losing your keys and being late to meetings? Tile it up and get there early. New puppy that moonlights as an escape artist? A Tile on the collar will help bring him home. Got a friend who tends to wander off from the bar around midnight? Stick a Tile on ’em and pick them up after bar close.

The way tile works is pretty simple. Your tile is tied to your account, that is accessible through your iPhone or other iOS device*. Once you log in, you can choose which Tile you are trying to locate, up to 10 per account. The app then plays a game of Warmer-Colder with you as you look for your item. If you don’t have time for games, you can tell the app to have your Tile play a sound – much like iPhone’s ‘Play Sound’ feature, if you’re within ear shot, finding your item should quick and easy.

What if your keys slip out of your pocket on a bus? No? I’m sure it’s happened… Marking a Tile as a ‘Lost Item’, through the app, turns other peoples’ Tiles into a virtual search party. As your Tile passes others, they secretly make note of your Tile’s location, and send you a notification via the Tile cloud. Pretty sweet.

Besides being small, Tiles are also waterproof – though no depth rating is given at this time. You’ll never need to charge your Tile’s battery either. Tile’s life span is about a year, when it’s time to replace, Tile will give you a reminder to recycle it and purchase a new one.
