After years of speculation and doubt, Iron Man/Tony Stark actor Robert Downey Jr. has confirmed that Iron Man 4 is indeed on its way. During an surprise AMA on Reddit he stated that the fourth entry into perhaps the franchise that paved the way for Marvel’s current cinematic universe is coming and negotiations are currently under way.

In another surprising twist Downey Jr. also stated that he was open in following the footsteps of fellow Marvel actor Samuel L. Jackson who plays Nick Fury in appearing in a cameo on ABC’s acclaimed Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Considering Robert Downey Jr’s payroll for his Marvel films it’ll be interesting to see rather this comes to fruition come season three.
