Earlier this morning a new Nintendo Direct broadcast was aired. This Nintendo Direct focused on providing more details on upcoming Wii U and 3DS titles coming out later this year and in early 2014. You can check out the full broadcast below.

Some of the more notable announcements include:

– A new Kirby game was announced for the Nintendo 3DS and will be released in 2014. Based on the gameplay trailer shown, the game will be a 2D side scrolling adventure featuring classic Kirby gameplay. The new thing that can be seen in the trailer is that Kirby will be switching to parts of the level featured in the background, as seen in games like Donkey Kong Country Returns and Mutant Mudds.

– In the new Super Mario 3D World trailer, a new power-up was revealed. Picking up a cherries will duplicate your character, and all those characters will be controlled at the same time.

– Changes to the traditional Zelda formula have been reconsidered for the upcoming 3DS game, The Legend of Zelda:  A Link Between Worlds. No longer will players obtain new items in dungeons and take advantage of that item to complete it. There is now a shop where you can rent or buy all of Link’s available items in the game. Dungeons can also be accessed and completed in any order that the player wants.

– New Wii Remote Plus designs will be released on November 1, that feature a Mario and Luigi themed design. The remotes will be priced at $39.99 each.

– Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze has been delayed and will now release in February 2014.

– A demo for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies is now available to download off the Nintendo 3DS eShop.

– Pikmin 3 will be receiving DLC that will provide new stages for the game’s Mission Mode. The first batch of stages is currently available for purchase at $1.99 on the Nintendo Wii U eShop. A new update is also available for Pikmin 3, and will add on a free new stage for Mission Mode.
