Gunfire Games as released new detailes for its upcoming title Chronos:

AUSTIN, TX — November 12, 2015– Gunfire Games, a leading VR developer, is revealing more of its upcoming role-playing game, Chronos, for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset and PC.

Gunfire has tapped multi-hyphenate, Dan Jolley, as lead writer to create a rich narrative that chronicles one hero’s lifelong quest to save his homeland from an evil force.  This unique adventure will allow players to explore a compelling fantasy world in full virtual reality with an incredible level of immersion and detail.  (http://gunfiregames.com/chronos/)

Jolley, who signed on after co-writing one of the top selling games in the world, Dying Light, for Techland, this past spring, was also one of the writers behind Mafia III for 2K Games, as well as numerous Transformers titles and Prototype 2 for Activision. His graphic novel, LARP!, a young adult story of teenage angst set against the world of steampunk LARPing, co-written with Shawn deLoache and illustrated by Marlin Shoop, was published by Dark Horse Comics and recently hit stores in September with a sequel currently in development.  His original novel “Gray Widow’s Walk”, a grounded sci-fi horror story centering on an Atlanta-based female vigilante, has just been accepted at Seventh Star Press and is planned as the first in a trilogy.  He’s represented by Alexander Robb of Insignia Entertainment.

“Chronos’ narrative directly affects gameplay. As the character ages, they become a wiser and more seasoned warrior, learning from past mistakes and from the exploration of the caverns, ruins and tombs,” said David Adams, Gunfire Games CEO. “It also means that players’ strategies will change as their characters grow older.”

Set to launch in 2016, Chronos is an atmospheric role-playing game centered around a labyrinth and a progressively-aging protagonist who fights to free his land from the clutches of an evil dragon. To do so, players will need to travel through an ancient labyrinth filled with twists and turns. But there’s a catch: The portal only opens once a year, and if the protagonist fails to make it through the labyrinth, he has to wait a year to try again.
