Kino Lorber has dated Dr. Mabuse, The Gambler:

NEW YORK, NY – SEPTEMBER 6, 2016 – Kino Lorber proudly announces the release of Fritz Lang’s epic, silent crime thriller DR. MABUSE, THE GAMBLER, in a new Blu-ray edition mastered in 2k from the 35mm restoration from the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung.
Adapted from the Norbert Jacques novel with a screenplay by Lang’s wife and frequent collaborator Thea von Harbou, DR. MABUSE, THE GAMBLER stars Rudolf Klein-Rogge (Metropolis) as the title character, an expert gambler and the nefarious mastermind of Berlin’s criminal underworld. This highly influential film, one of the key works of Weimar-era German silent cinema, set the stage for espionage thrillers to follow (including Lang’s own Spies), and the director would later make two sequels to the film, The Testament of Dr. Mabuse (1933) and The Thousand Eyes of Dr. Mabuse (1960).

DR. MABUSE, THE GAMBLER will be released on Blu-ray on September 13, with a SRP of $39.95. This edition is presented with a score by Aljoscha Zimmermann, and contains the original German intertitles, with optional English subtitles. Special features include “The Story Behind Dr. Mabuse”, a three-part documentary exploring the musical score by Aljoscha Zimmermann, the career of novelist Norbert Jacques, and an analysis of the film, featuring archival interview footage of Fritz Lang.

Synopsis:
Inspired by the epic thrillers of Louis Feuillade (Les Vampires) and Joe May (The Indian Tomb), Fritz Lang crafted an epic drama revolving around a diabolical hypnotist, master of disguise, and criminal genius: Dr. Mabuse. Populated with henchmen, heroes, and femme fatales, punctuated with elaborate action sequences, and set against a backdrop of Weimar-era European decadence, DR. MABUSE, THE GAMBLER had an unmistakable influence on all the espionage thrillers that followed in its wake.

About the Restoration:
This edition was mastered in 2k from the 35mm restoration by the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau Stiftung in cooperation with the Bundesarchiv-Filmarchiv of Berlin, the Filmmuseum Munich, and L’Immagine Ritrovata of Bologna.
