Devil May Cry V’s release is near and Capcom are giving fans of the long-awaited sequel another chance to get reacquainted with their demon slaying skills. This time releasing on Playstation 4 as well as the Xbox One new challenges will await players before the final build of the game releases in just a few weeks.

Devil May Cry V is a 2019 action RPG, it is developed & published by Capcom. It releases March 8, 2019 on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.

With just five weeks to go until the full release Capcom has released a new public demo this time more public than the last Xbox exclusive from a few months back. This time around customization has been turned on with some new scenes added in. In addition, players who have save data of this demo present on either consoles will receive 30K free red orbs upon booting up the final build of the game.

Playstation 4 owners can finally take on the mighty Goliath.

THE GOOD: The new demo is more or less the same as the Xbox exclusive demo, at least on Playstation 4. As mentioned previously there’s a couple of new scenes spliced in for variation and customization is here to upgrade Nero. Classics such as the Air Hike maneuver is present in this build of the game as an upgrade and if you just so happen to die you keep your red orbs and can save them for further investment into Nero’s repertoire.

Kick some demon ass in Devil May Cry V.

THE BAD: If you played the early Xbox demo as a PS4 owner there’s not too much different to do here. In my previous preview I mentioned that enemy AI needed to be tweaked and admittedly it does feel like they take longer to bring down there’s still a feeling of a lack of real intelligence. Naturally this is a demo build and there’s still more than enough time for this to be changed in the final build, but more of a challenge in the final demo would have definitely been appreciated. Dante and/or V being playable at least for a bit would have been nice.

Nico will help Nero upgrade his weaponry and skill set in DMCV.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: While it hardly gives us much more than the original demo did the new Devil May Cry V demo does provide a slightly more polished look at the gold version of the game. Anyone whose played Devil May Cry will be familiar with the upgrading mechanic, but it’s nice to see how it relates to Nero’s new Devil Breaker arm. It’s good to know that Devil May Cry V is shaping up to be another classic entry into the long-running series and it’s sure to gain some stylish points from fans upon release in March.
