In the last decade the big trend in all forms of entertainment including anime and video games was revivals and remakes. That was the big theme from the middle point of the 2010s. In regards to anime top series such as Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, and even Yu Yu Hakusho had some kind of revival project attached to them and now at the start of the year it looks like the trend is continuing with the shounen series Bleach. Created by Tite Kubo and launched by Shounen Jump/Shueisha in 2001 and ran until 2016. with an anime series by Studio Pierrot debuting in 2004 and ending in 2012. In 2018 Tite Kubo released a spinoff of Bleach title Burn the Witch which featured an entirely new cast of characters and while located within the same universe of Bleach, Burn the Witch was based in the Western branch of the Soul Society and takes place 12 years after the Quincy War arc and two years after the final chapter of Bleach. The one-shot focused on two young witches named Noel and Spangle who are partners that work in an alternative version of London where magic resides. The news of the one-shot receiving an animated OVA comes from the AnimeTV twitter account which has a history of posting reliable anime news. Meanwhile, Tite Kubo and members of the Bleach voice cast are set to appear at the Anime Japan event in March which had led many to speculate that a sequel anime covering the last arcs of the manga will be revealed. Kubo is also set to announce his next manga series at the event which could potentially be a fully serialized manga of Burn the Witch, a direct Bleach sequel, or possibly both. Though given Kubo’s past health issues while working with Bleach that seems unlikely unless Kubo takes a lesser role with the sequel as a prodigy takes most of the bigger work. You can see an image of the announcement below, for anyone who finds the source questionable Yonkou Productions; a well respected anime leaker and others have reported the OVA as well: Sources: https://www.reddit.com/r/bleach/comments/esgzph/bleach_ova_burn_the_witch/ @Yonkou Productions
