With the long in development streaming service launching later this year, September if the Young Justice team’s earlier comments are to be believed, we’ve decided to take a look at ten possible and most desired series we’d like to see eventually premiere on the network overtime. With an already decent amount of original content between it’s launch & 2019 slate alongside the undoubtedly huge list of classics that will air there’s plenty of ideas for new (and returning) content to keep the service going:

10: Blue Beetle:

Once upon a time number ten on our list almost became a reality believe it or not. Since at least 2010 WB’s Geoff Johns had confirmed that test footage for a live-action version of the character was being used to pitch a TV series, and as of this writing a TV project is either dead or put on hold due to Greg Berlanti’s film being in the works for the DCEU. The character has gone through a bit of a resurgence in popularity with Jaime Reyes’ popularity in both the comics and the Young Justice series where he’s a member of that show’s subtle version of the Teen Titans. There’s plenty of reason to justify at least a trial run for a potential stand alone series.

9: Justice League Chronicles: Gods & Monsters:

Originally launched on Machinima in 2015, Justice League Chronicles: Gods & Monsters launched as a series of shorts based on an alternative universe where some of DC’s greatest villains were anti-heroes of Earth. The series had been well-received by critics & fans and had even earned a ten episode second season. However, the sophomore season never came to fruition due to production issues and creator Sam Liu moved on to other projects. These shorts could be used as ad breaks of sorts for DC Universe’s original programming.

8: Wonder Woman:

With the DCEU film being a smash hit now is as good a time as any to develop a stand alone TV project of some kind based on the Amazoness. The last stand alone Wonder Woman project outside of the 2017 film was in 1975, with multiple planned projects across the span of several decades that never came to pass including a potential Arrowverse series. Fans have been begging for Wonder Woman to receive proper shine for decades and now’s the time WB & DC.

7: Justice League Action:

While this is purely speculation on my part Justice League Action could be in serious trouble. Initially ordered for a 52 episode pilot season, the series had it’s premiere in November 2016 in the UK with a US debut following in December. Why is it in potential danger? Ratings haven’t been stellar with episodes barely in arms reach of the million viewers per episode mark. As of this writing all 52 episodes have aired in some countries with an unscheduled date for airing sometime this year in the US and no signs of renewal in sight.

6: Lucifer Season 4 & Beyond:

Currently on the huge chopping block list of cancelled FOX programs this year, Lucifer was slow to build but it found itself a loyal fan base after some much needed adjustments to it’s writing. FOX shockingly cancelled the series after three seasons and millions are devastated. An online campaign is heavily active in reviving the series with hashtags such as #SaveLucifer topping social media. The staff was so confident in getting renewed they ended the third season with a cliffhanger. Currently as of this writing Lucifer is being shopped around to other networks including premium cable and even DC Universe (the only named network so far). DC Comics owns Vertigo the imprint which created The Sandman & Lucifer comics.

5: Gotham Season Six & Beyond:

Though it was (and still is) a terrifying time to be a Gotham fan, we can at least take solace in the fact that a fifth season is indeed happening. The bad news? It’s going to be the final season, on FOX anyways. Since it’s debut in 2014 Gotham gained a loyal following both from DC & non-DC fans alike with it’s unique take on Bruce Wayne/Batman & Commissioner Jim Gordon’s origins. Featuring a soon-to-be Caped Crusader and much of his rogue gallery’s early years, Bruce deals with life after the death of his parents with the aide of Gordon, Alfred, and Selina Kyle. Season five will have Bruce fully take on the role of The Dark Knight. Gotham’s survival reportedly hung in the balance of Lethal Weapon finding a co-star to replace Clayne Crawford. As predicted, after successfully finding it’s new lead FOX ended Gotham while opting to give it a finale season. There’s still plenty of stories left to tell beyond Batman: Year One and storylines like it after the fifth season’s conclusion & DC Universe should definitely step in to keep the series going.

4: Static:

Another beloved DC property that needs much more attention than it’s currently getting is Static. The character has remained immensely popular among DC fans even over a decade of his stand alone series having finished airing. The young hero grew in popularity with his debut on Young Justice, becoming a full-time member in ‘Outsiders’. There was a live-action Static project announced & in development by Blue Ribbon Content, but no news has been revealed within the last several years on it’s status.

3: Suicide Squad:

Another DC property with a planned Arrowverse spinoff cancelled due to the DCEU, Suicide Squad is also going through a rise in popularity. With several films both animated and live-action being made within this decade Suicide Squad is more relevant than ever. A Harley Quinn animated series is set to air on DC Universe and it could be a great door opener to a Suicide Squad spinoff.

2: Superman (Arrowverse spin-off of Supergirl):

Though there’s already series set in the Superman universe being produced for DC Universe called Metropolis it’s not looking so good. The series was given a direct season order earlier this year for a 2019 debut, but was quickly put on hold for redevelopment. With Metropolis’ fate in question now would be the perfect time to give Tyler Hoechlin a call to dawn the cape again as Krypton’s last son in a Supergirl spinoff. His few performances as Superman in the Arrowverse’s Supergirl were universally acclaimed by critics & fans and there’s a very big desire for more of that performance.

1: Teen Titans Season Six & Beyond:

If you’ve heard the recent news surrounding the Titans then number one on our list should be no surprise. With rumors making the rounds that not only is a revival of the 2003 animated in the cards, but almost a “guarantee”, if a Teen Titans Go! producer is to be believed it feels like the Teen Titans incarnation most grew up with is indeed on the verge of returning and what better place to return with a consistent flow of new episodes than on DC’s in-house network? The problem? It depends on a few factors, including if WB thinks there’s too much Titans on TV. Even with Go!, there’s also Young Justice, which while not a direct Titans series it is indeed based on the group & Titans the live-action series. However, with the film on the way it’s entirely possible that Cartoon Network & WB may be letting go of Teen Titans Go! in favor of the darker toned original.
