The penultimate episode in TellTale’s The Wolf Among Us has come forth setting in the closing moments of the season. With the finale only a couple of months or so away from release how did episode 4 stack up to the previous releases?

In Sheep’s Clothing is the fourth and semi-finale episode of TellTale’s The Wolf Among Us. It is developed and published by TellTale Games. it is available on Android, IOS, PC, Playstation 3, and Xbox 360. It will soon be available on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Warning: The following review contains complete to near complete spoilers for In Sheep’s Clothing. If you have yet to play this episode of The Wolf Among Us, then please avoid this review until having done so, you have been warned folks.

Episode four, the semi-final episode to the excellent first season of The Wolf  Among Us has been released. Bigby is close to solving the mysterious surrounding the Crooked Man, Crane, the murdered women and then some. In fact within the closing moments of the episode he and the Crooked Man finally meet face to face.

THE GOOD: Bigby’s story is coming to a close, at least as far as season one is concerned. The Crooked Man has been found and has been expecting the wolf for quite some time now. Bigby is looking to close whatever remaining chapters are left that are connected to the Crooked Man, and time will only tell if he’s able to pull through. The Crooked Man’s minions have asked to have Bigby killed, but he thinks there’s another way to deal with him.

After months of prancing about looking for clues to his whereabouts Bigby finds The Crooked Man’s magical moving door, and is accepted with welcomed arms, almost  anyways. In the end he and Bigby converse about his doings in Fable Town, though the results of the conversation won’t be known to us until the season finale. In Sheep’s Clothing also introduced two new characters, The Butcher and the Jersey Devil, both of which are associates of The Crooked Man. I found Jersey Devil to be a rather interesting character given his glamor appearance. One thing I’ve enjoyed about The Wolf Among Us is it’s unique use of real life legends and monsters in the story. I liked that Devil didn’t feel like an underwhelmed push over, and could actually take both Bigby and Woody on simultaneously.

THE BAD : The choices this time around didn’t feel like that had much of an impact in comparison to the previous episodes. In Sheep’s Clothing was also pretty laced in the overall number of choices as well.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: The Crooked Man arc is coming to a close, and given the preview of the season final we were given I’m looking forward to Bigby & Mary’s rematch. Overall choices didn’t seem to have much impact like the previous episodes in the series which was rather disappointing to say the least. But In Sheep’s Clothing sets the mood for what’s going to be an fantastic season finale.
