Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is perhaps one of the best games in the COD franchise. With a revamped gameplay mechanic including new tech such as new jetpackish abilities, an all-star cast, and a very solid campaign, Advanced Warfare has brought Call of Duty to it’s A game.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is an 2014 first-person shooter, it is developed by Sledgehammer Games & High Moon Studios, and published y Activision. It is available on PC, and last & current gen consoles.

Advanced Warfare took everything fans loved about Call of Duty and turned it up to 10. The campaign, which had been a very weak point of Call of Duty over the last couple of years, was revamped in a brilliant manner, including having the addition of star power such as  Kevin Spacey, and others. The new gameplay that added such abilities as high jumping, gave players new options for strategy, especially in multiplayer.

THE GOOD:  Advanced Warfare takes the “Advanced” in it’s title to heart. Every once of the game revamped from the ground up, including the campaign, which had felt like it always needed more time to develop, which can be an issue with yearly releases. This wasn’t an issue with Advanced Warfare, an amazing cast including Troy Baker & Kevin Spacey, gave the campaign a feeling that Call of Duty fans likely haven’t felt since Modern Warfare 1’s great campaign.

The new gameplay mechanics such as cloaking and high jumps brought a new array of strategic plans for both campaign and multiplayer. New weaponry such as a grenade that literally hunts down your enemies in the way similar to the blue tortoise shell was fun to use. The campaign also felt longer than the usual 5 hours of previous Call of Duty titles.

THE BAD: The AI of companions in the campaign could be quite abysmal, with your allies often getting in your way during a shoot out. Thus making friendly fire an consistent annoyance.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is one of the best entries in the Call of Duty franchise. Everything, including the campaign felt like it was re-worked from the ground up. The addition of stars such as Kevin Spacey & Troy Baker breathed new life into  an once dull element of the franchise, and the overall revamped gameplay makes the game. However, there were some hiccups such as bad companion AI in the campaign, which made friendly fire an frequent annoyance.
