It’s a great time to be a Yu Yu Hakusho fan, the original debut manga by Yoshihiro Togashi is finding it’s own bit of resurgence in the era of remakes, remasters, and reboots. Earlier this year it was announced that a new anime special based on the series would be releasing later this year in Japan, however a Blu-Ray re-release boxset will also be coming and in addition the release will come bundled with a brand new OVA that adapts two stories that were never animated: a manga side-story based on Kurama & Hiei’s first meeting, and the penultimate chapter of the final arc in which the Spirit World was invaded by terrorist. This news was originally published by anime & manga translator @YonkouProductions on Twitter & further expanded on by fellow translator @Herms98:
Specifically, it will adapt not only Two Shots (the manga side-story depicting how Kurama and Hiei met) but also “Sink of Swim” (のるか そるか), the second-to-last manga chapter that shows the Spirit World taken over by terrorists. Neither has been animated previously. https://t.co/jSovqfvUjB
