Originally set sometime this year on DC Comics’ digital streaming service DC Universe, Young Justice: Outsiders the third season of the fan-favorite Teen Titans spiritual successor, and Harley Quinn an R-rated animated series based on the titular character have been delayed into 2019. It was initially believed that Young Justice would launch alongside the live-action Teen Titans series “Titans”, with Harley Quinn following later on in 2018, however this is no longer the case. DC nor WB have given the reason for the delays, but they did share the respective synopsis for season three and ‘Quinn’, both are scheduled for 26 episodes each:
Young Justice: Outsiders:
“The season focuses on meta–trafficking, and an intergalactic arms race for control of these super–powered youths.”
Harley Quinn:
“Follows Harley’s adventures after she breaks up with the Joker and strikes out on her own in this new adult animated comedy. With the help of Poison Ivy and a ragtag crew of DC castoffs, Harley tries to earn a seat at the biggest table in villainy: the Legion of the Doom.”
This news comes just months after it was revealed that Superman prequel “Metropolis” was also delayed, however the difference of course being that Metropolis was placed back in development, whereas the former two series are nearing the end of their production.
