SEGA has announced the release window for Yakuza 0:
The characters Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima sprang to life in video games all the way back in 2005, but we got to experience their lives in the midst of their inglorious Yakuza careers, even seeing what life was like after getting out of the organization.
But now, with Yakuza 0, players get to step into the sartorially immaculate shoes of Kiryu and Majima *before* they became the Dragon and the Mad Dog (respectively). And when the game launches, you’ll get to find out just how bad things can get for a Yakuza foot soldier.
We announced this game back in December at the PlayStation Experience, and though there was some confusion back then, we can finally confirm that Yakuza 0 is headed to Europe as well, as both retail and digital releases! We are currently targeting a simultaneous release in both territories. Here’s an amazing .gif straight from Yakuza 0 to commemorate the occasion!
Also, you’ll notice that we have a rough launch window of “Early 2017” for the title as well!
A couple of important reminders from your friendly SEGA PR rep:
1) Even though it was released on PS3 and PS4 in Japan, we are only localizing the PS4 version of Yakuza 0. This also holds true for Europe.
2) It’ll get a physical release as well as digital release. Again, also for Europe.
3) Yakuza 0 is being localized 100% as a SEGA initiative. PlayStation isn’t involved on a production level with this title.
