Turtle Beach’s Stealth 500P is an inexpensive gaming headset that works with Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and mobile gaming devices. Featuring a battery life of 15 hours, this headset is great for long gaming sessions or streamers doing a marathon. The DTS surround sound also allows players to hear everything within in the surrounding areas pf the level.
The Turtle Beach Stealth 500p is an 2014 gaming headset. It is produced by Turtle Beach, and supports Playstation consoles and mobile.
The Turtle Beach Stealth 500p is an fairly ok headset for the price you’ll spend getting it. At $129.99 the attractive battery life is great if you stream your gameplay often. The wireless dongle tries to give gamers extra space by avoiding the use of cables that get in the way, though you will need to use a cable to connect to the dongle for digital sound.
THE GOOD: The Stealth 500p is a lightweight headset with the signature removable & flexible Turtle Beach microphone. With support for Playstation consoles and mobile devices, players shouldn’t have much problem using the 500p as a media headset, or a gaming chat headset. The wireless dongle keeps the use of cords to a minimum, which is something that I’ve realized can be quite annoying with USB headsets and small space, though you will need to use a cord for digital audio.
THE BAD: The headset ear muffs get uncomfortable very fast. I have no idea why the strap at the top of the headset felt far more comfortable than the ear muffs, but this was certainly the case after only several minutes.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: The Turtle Beach Stealth 500p is an ok headset for an ok price. The DTS surround sound is great, the wireless is great, and the flexible microphone is also great. However, the ear muffs aren’t very comfortable after a while, which is very disheartening for the promised battery life. Otaku Dome gives the Turtle Beach Stealth 500p an 70 out of 100.
