Back when DC Universe’s Titans was originally being developed for network channel TNT, there were rumors floating about that the antagonist may end up being Jason Todd, who is perhaps best known as the second Robin and later the villainous Red Hood. Jason Todd is indeed confirmed to have some kind of role in the upcoming DC Universe exclusive. However, it may not be in the vein of lead antagonist, but perhaps a secondary villain to the ultimate big bad of the series; the legendary demon Trigon, who most DC Comics fans will know is the father of Rachel “Raven” Roth. The news comes from Heroic Hollywood who reports that this is actor Seamus Dever’s mysterious role. The actor had signed on for Titans in an undisclosed role back in January.
It was previously stated that the pilot season for Titans would have an extremely heavy focus on the character Raven and if leaked details of the pilot episode are to be believed then Trigon being the big bad definitely makes sense. Titans will also star Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Lindsey Gort as Detective Amy Rohrbach, Alan Ritchson as Hawk and Minka Kelly as Dove. It is set to premiere exclusively on DC’s digital streaming service DC Universe this Fall, a beta will launch next month in August.
