Akira Himekawa’s The Legend of Zelda manga begins to adapt one of its final storylines in The Twilight Princess arc. Taking place within the video game of the same name, the series follows Link who has become a dark wolf that is forced to aide the mysterious Goddess Midna, who has been cursed by evil.
THE GOOD: The Twilight Princess manga is off to a good start in Volume 1, as our hero Link comes into contact with the mysterious Goddess known as The Twilight Princess; Midna who transforms him into a dark wolf able to travel between the worlds of the light and the dark depending on which form he takes. As Link helps Midna break her curse, he must also help his fellow villagers as in the video game.
THE BAD: There’s a bit of a slow start before we get to Link and Midna’s journey.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Twilight Princess Volume 1 while a good opening act, does put what felt like a bit too much time on filler before we begin the meeting between Midna and Link. There’s not too much action in this volume either, but given its the beginning of the story it can be forgiven. Otaku Dome gives The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess Volume 1 a 75 out of 100.
