In an update to a rather unfortunate gaming casualty of the COVID-19/coronavirus pandemic The Last of Us 2 has been a victim of several leaks this includes, but is not limited to gameplay of the upcoming Sony Playstation 4 exclusive. While we won’t be posting any of the leaks here out of respect for Sony, Naughty Dog, and players looking forward to the game I can confirm through access from a friend that a lot of what looks like finished gameplay is indeed out in the internet wilds. The footage I was shown looks like it came from a Playstation 4 devkit. How leakers got their hands on this I’m not exactly sure, but reports did suggest that devs working at Naughty Dog had been rather upset over the game’s crunch. So much so that they reportedly even wanted the game to fail and it could be possible that this was an inside job. The Last of Us Part 2’s development crunch had first been reported by former Naughty Dog staff members and then later expanded upon by former Kotaku writer Jason Schreier among others, consistently being reported on over time as the course of development wrapped on the sequel. The Last of Us Part 2 is currently on hiatus due to COVID-19.
