Originally said to have been returning this month, it seems that popular series’ long awaited return will have to be waited on a bit longer. Adult Swim announced via a bump that the season 4 premiere of The Boondocks had been pushed back indefinitely to April 21, 2014. For those wondering this is a Monday, in the past new episodes of The Boondocks had aired on Sunday & Thursday, it’s an interesting time slot move considering the competition on that day, but Boondocks (re-runs included) is one of Cartoon Network/Adult Swim’s biggest rating drawers despite how long it takes to produce new episode (roughly 3-5 years with Korean animation).
I couldn’t imagine it having too much trouble in the new Monday time slot, as for why The Boondocks being pushed back three months there’s probably a number of reasons why, perhaps a certain episode took longer to produce than originally thought, or more edits were needed. It’s likely that Cartoon Network didn’t want Rick & Morty & Eagle overshadowed by the popular series. Rick & Morty began airing it’s pilot season back in December, with Eagleheart premiering it’s final season.
