Khan’s is here in the Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan Director’s Cut Blu-Ray set. Remastered in a Blu-Ray re-release Wrath of Khan is credited as given a bit of a rebirth to the original William Shatner led Star Trek TV series and it’s film franchise due to it’s cast performance, direction, and writing.
Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan Director’s Cut is an 1982 science fiction film, it is produced by Paramount Pictures, and it is currently available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Wrath of Khan continues the film franchise of the original Star Trek series which starred William Shatner as one of its leads. Featuring a well written script, awesomely developed main antagonist, and an all around great viewing experience, it’s not hard to wonder why some credit it for the original Star Trek series’ resurgence in popularity.
THE GOOD: When most people hear Star Trek: Wrath of Khan, chances are they’re likely going to remember its titular villain, and there’s several reasons for this. The main of which being the performance of Ricardo Montalban, as well as how perfectly crafted Khan was as an character in this film. Though uncredited, Nicholas Meyers made one hell of an antagonist throughout the writing of his script.
THE BAD: Some of the acting performances were a little off, and the CGI could get a little ridiculous.
OVERALL THOUGHTS; Perhaps one of, if not the best film in the original Star Trek series’ film franchise; Wrath of Khan is a Star Trek film fans both new and old will appreciate and need to see at some point. Ricardo Montalban steals the show as the lead antagonist. Otaku Dome gives Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan Director’s Cut an 93 out of 100.
