Star Trek Beyond is an 2016 action film, it is produced by Bad Robot Productions and distributed by Paramount Pictures, it is currently available on DVD, Blu-Ray, and Digital HD.
Star Trek returns for its third entry within the reboot film universe and nineteenth entry within the overall film franchise. as the Enterprise crew try to continue their third year of a five year mission, they suddenly get attacked by the villainous Krall who has a seemingly deep hatred of the Enterprise. Actor performances and the score once again impress in this sequel.
THE GOOD: Star Trek Beyond once again has another stellar villain in Krall, coming off the heels of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Khan performance, Idris Elba provides a believable yet sympathetic performance for the villain. While you want Krall to get help, at the same time you can’t help but hate the guy. New additions to the cast such as Lydia Wilson & Sofia Boutella play their roles well. Action scenes and the musical score are excellently done throughout the film’s run.
THE BAD: Absolutely nothing, Beyond continues the Star Trek trilogy’s grand quality.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Star Trek Beyond is a fantastic sequel in an even more fantastic trilogy. Though a fourth film is in development, the current trilogy ends on a such a high note that it wouldn’t have at all been upsetting if Paramount chose to end things here. Otaku Dome gives Star Trek Beyond an 90 out of 100.
