Arnold Schwarzenegger continues his return to film in the raunchy action packed thriller Sabotage where he plays one of many corrupt DEA agents who must find the killer amongst them while deciding what to do with stolen money.
Sabotage is a 2014 crime thriller film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, it is produced by Open Road films and distributed by Universal Studios. It is available on DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital as of today.
Ever since his long awaited return to film Arnold Schwarzenegger has been in some fairly decent films with the start of 2012’s The Expendables 2. In Sabotage he takes more of an anti-heroic role playing corrupt DEA Agent John “Breacher” Wharton who takes the lead of his fellow corrupt DEA Agents. Breacher must find the person responsible for the deaths of his fellow agents before it’s too late.
THE GOOD: Sabotage does it’s action and thriller scenes quite well above all else. The drama in the film never felt too over the top which combined with the action and thrills made the film quite watchable. The story itself wasn’t completely ridiculous like some previous films Arnold had been featured in before his return to acting. Special features on the Blu-Ray included deleted scenes, alternative endings, and the making of.
THE BAD: The acting was pretty hit or miss, and I’m not exactly expecting this film to make new Arnold fans, despite how decent it is. Another thing is there’s often times when it feels like the movie will drag and it never ends.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Sabotage is a solid film and a good addition to Arnold’s new repertoire of films. The acting was hit or miss, but the thriller scenes were excellently done, and the drama never felt over the top or cringe worthy to watch. Sometimes the movie can kind of drag on, but the overall solidness of the film is still enough to keep both Arnold fans and thriller junkies satisfied. Otaku Dome gives Sabotage a 70 out of 100.
