Trials Fusion has finally hit consoles, but how is this new dirt bike, trick performing racer?
Trials Fusion is a 2014 platform racer. It is developed by RedLynx and published by Ubisoft. It is available on PC, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
I’ve nearly really been much of a fan of racing games in general, though I have enjoyed some such as the ATV titles, due to them being more than racers. You could perform tricks, and there was different terrains to go on. Trials Fusion is pretty much the same kind of “racer” I fancy, but with more focus on the tricks than the actual racing aspect, that’s not a bad thing either.
THE GOOD: The backdrops of Trials Fusion are pretty damn stunning ,especially on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Tracks never felt too long, but they weren’t short enough to dwindle interest. There’s an option to restart the race completely or only from a certain checkpoint, and you’ll be using both of these options, as there will be screw ups a plenty here, especially once you get past the first few races.
The balancing mechanic provided some good difficulty, that wasn’t on the levels of ripping your hair out in rage. And it doesn’t take very much thinking to consider how to get to the next point of the race. Braking was also useful, almost to the point where you would feel it was a necessity.
THE BAD: Balancing could get in the way if you didn’t take the time to practice it. Some tricks were also ridiculously hard, and they may turn some players off from the game eventually, at least for a while anyways.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Stunning graphics, a good challenge, and a solid time of play per track, Trials Fusion is a successful entry in the Trials franchise. With practice players can have an extremely enjoyable experience in Trials Fusion, though sometimes the tricks would be frustrating, and balancing would cause you to hit the restart button consistently. Still for what it is Trials Fusion is an amazing platform racer with plenty of tracks to hold your interest for some time.
