Does Rayman Legends continue to rise Rayman’s legacy, or has the franchise become nothing more than what it’s title suggest?
Rayman Legends is a 2013 platformer game developed and published by Ubisoft. It is available on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii u, PS Vita, and PC.
This is my very first Rayman title and as such I’ll attempt to be as unbiased as humanly possible. There were some things I didn’t quite like, but there were plenty I did. Back when Origins was announced I was still uninterested in the franchise, but something about Legends looked different and I decided on getting a copy, all in all I can’t say I was disappointed.

THE GOOD: Rayman Legends is fun and easy to pick up even if you’ve never played a single Rayman game. Each level of the first world “Teensies in Trouble” involves you saving the little blue creatures from the enemies. Some are hidden in secret areas of whichever painting you’re in, which can be a major pain to find if they aren’t in plain sight. Platforming is fun and quick, if you missed a coin or a cage full of lumnes, you have the opportunity to go back and get what you missed depending on how smart you are about it and how far back you missed them.
Would all of the Teensies please stand up!
There’s an item known as a lucky ticket ( I believe), that gives you the opportunity to unlock different items including extra levels. The more Teensies you collect the more levels you unlock. Replay value is strong in this game, there’s plenty to do, from mini games to levels, Rayman Legends has a deep amount of play time. You can even unlock some levels from the previous title Rayman Legends.

THE BAD: Although fun, the game can get quite annoying at times. There’s a few cheap deaths in some of the secret Teensie areas, as well as quick time on completing a level. It usually only takes a mere 5-8 minutes to complete any single level (according to what I gathered from playing “Teensies in Trouble”). Most levels lacked difficulty, in most cases you can collect every lumne and teensie in the game if you’d actually want to with no problem whatsoever.

THE UGLY: The only really bad thing about Rayman Legends is the lack of online play. Ubisoft only put in couch co-op, but the more you play and go through the game, the more you realize that this was a game meant for at least some online co-op.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: Rayman Legends is a fun and easy game though things can get too easy. Replay value is huge and the unlockables are nice. Extra characters and games to play with gives you plenty to do, but online co-op should have been added as couch co-op felt like it didn’t work with some mini games and such.

Wait, did you “review” a game that you haven’t actually completed? That seems a bit…irresponsible. I know you gave it a solid score, but your opinions on the Good, Bad, and Ugly could change as a result of the rest of the 12-14 hours you’d take to play past the Teensies In Trouble paintings.
I usually play the game until I complete it, but sometimes when I’m stomped on time with other games that need reviewing I’m only able to get so far, it also doesn’t help that I’m in college as well.
