Life Goes On is finally out and available to PC players everywhere. How is this unique little platformer game when it comes to the competition?
Life Goes On is a 2014 platformer game. It is developed and published by Infinite Monkeys Entertainment. It is available exclusively for PC.
Life Goes On is one of those unique platformers that brings something different with it’s gameplay. In the game you literally have to die in order to reach your point of interest, which is a trophy that allows you to move on to the next point in the game. The way death is used in Life Goes On is neatly done and pretty fun to see.
THE GOOD: Life Goes On is a unique platformer with a bit of Dark Souls, where the object is to literally die in order to move on to the end of the level, and subsequently the next level in the game. From spikes to beams, you’ll need to use one of your fellow soldiers as pawns in order to move forward. Luckily there’s check points that allows you to save progress at a certain spot so you won’t have to start over from the beginning of the level. The Levels aren’t particularly long and have a pretty decent length to them the further you progress.
THE BAD: Beyond the environment itself, there isn’t any real threat to the player. That means no enemies to get in the way of your progress. And some of the further levels features some extreme difficulties, and with a set number of soldiers per level this will pretty much piss off some players.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Life Goes On is a hell of a lot of fun for an indie platformer, and a hell of a challenge to get through. While some of the puzzles were simple enough to get passed, others were a pain. It also didn’t help that you gad a set number of maximum soldiers per level, this of course is only really annoying in the latter levels of the game. Overall, Life Goes On is a fantastic platforming game and one anyone who’s a fan of the genre will enjoy countless times.
