Knights of pen & paper +1 is an interesting look at the tabletop roleplaying that many people including myself like to delve into, Being on the PC of course helped with the illusion of your character battling through monster after monster to finish the main quest. Check out the full review below!
Knights of pen & paper +1 edition, Started off on mobile devices and very succesfully I might add. Bringing it to the PC was a good call selling on steam for a meager 10 bucks. The content that comes with the game, Branching off of the already great story and adding more to it makes this game well worth the price.
The story consists of quest after quest of killing, collecting and even Escorting. Not many more game modes other than this but they keep it nice and fresh all the way through with the 16 bit graphics which really appeal to an older gamer such as myself. As well as the graphics the music in the game was really.. Nostalgic and catchy making you feel the silly little quest you were on, Slaying bat’s, or rats. Sometimes I caught myself actually looking at the text and catching myself getting a good chuckle from it.
You start off by making a new game, Selecting your chair and then choosing what you are for a upgrade in game, I chose rocker for that nice health boost! But there are many more! Pizza guy, Hipster, Nerd quite a few more. And then you get to choose which classes you want. Ranging from your typical warrior, rogue, mage, and druid along with many more great choices with each having their own unique attacks, spells and weaknesses. You can really just focus on one spell to make your character a tank, and the rest pure DPS. Typical in most RPG’s and done rather well this go round with even more depth to make the classes you take with you (( Up to 5)) able to be completely different and advantageous against the many enemies you will face.
Overall, It is a fun game if you are looking for a deep story, This isn’t for you. But if you have a few minutes and wouldnt mind leveling up your characters on a quick break or something? This is for you, It was a fun addictive game with fun and addictive aspects to it that keep you coming back for more. Keep up the great work Paradox, you are obviously doing alot of things right!
