The sixth entry into the Dead or Alive franchise is out now on PC and console. Featuring new gameplay elements which place an emphasis on the violence, Dead or Alive 6 is a solid entry with some missing online features. Advanced DOA players will feel right at home, however this title looks to aide newcomers to the franchise with an ease of accessibility.
Dead or Alive 6 is a 2019 fighting game, it is developed by Team Ninja and published by Koei Tecmo, it is currently available on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.

THE GOOD: Dead or Alive 6 tries to make true effort for granting newcomers easy access to pick up and play the game without button mash spamming to death.Tutorial acts as the jumping off point for newcomers, while a Quest Mode is a more advanced version of the former. Placing players in sort of catch-up like missions to test out what they’ve learned while getting some practice in. This mode has character specific missions as well to help guide you in picking your potential DOA6 mains for online play and such whenever you think you’re ready. Something new to the series is the ability to customize costumes for fighters. And breast physics, in addition to blood and violence levels can be adjusted to the player’s liking.
THE BAD: Story mode is pretty disappointing as far as the overall story & writing goes and it doesn’t leave much desire to go back in upon completion. DLC prices are still rather outrageous for costumes, just like in the previous entry. Online content was rocky at launch, but as of this writing has met some nice improvements such as leaderboards getting added.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Dead or Alive 6’s launch wasn’t the brightest it could have been, but for rookie players looking to find an easy to adapt to fighting experience it’s perfect for them. As for longtime players and fans they may ultimately find the experience to be a bit hit or miss with it’s current direction. The concept of a great fighting is mostly here it just needs a bit more touch up.
