The multi-billion dollar shooter returns in Call of Duty: Ghosts, does Ghosts continue to avoid the critics’ grasp or has this series finally fallen flat?
Call of Duty: Ghosts is an 2013 FPS it is developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It is currently available on the Playstation3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U. It will soon be available on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
Stealthy…
THE GOOD: Ghosts begins as a promising addition to the Call of Duty franchise wiht it’s opening campaign sequence, then turns into this completely different animal. Gameplay was fun and there were times when you had to think on your feet in order to advance in the story. The moments where you use your four-legged partner Riley were fun to do, and I wish they would have included more than what they did, but considering this is the first game to include the dog feature, it’s understandable that its’ use was limited to a few missions and a couple of quick kills. Ghosts’ story is top notch and probably the best in the franchise at this moment, rivaling Black Ops II’s futuristic storyline.
Can’t see the forest for the trees.
Extinction was fun but isn’t much of a replacement for the previous installments’ zombie modes. Multiplayer as a whole however definitely still has its’ moments even with the annoying sore losers on the other end of the mic busting your ear drukms in dismay of your having just killed them.
Nothing like deep sea diving….with a gun.
THE BAD: AI was split between brilliant and stupid, there was often times when I could just tank through an entire horde of enemies having only lost a little bit of health. Your comrads’ AI was also a bit off putting, they would get in your way most of the time as well while travelling.
Multiplayer in action.
THE UGLY: Already stated, but more Riiley would have been awesome.
Call of Duty: In Space!
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Ghosts is a fun game with an excellent story, the moments with Riley were fun to play I jisut wish there was more. AI for both the enemeies and comrads felt stupid, although both would often show signs of brilliance. Multiplayer and Extinction were cool, but the latter is no substitute for zombies.
