The first 78 episodes of Pokemon are full of memorable moments. From Ash and Pikachu’s first meeting, to Ash and Gary’s epic rival, to Team Rocket’s awesome intro song, the memories in this season one collection will make you miss your childhood, and even consider getting Pokemon cards from somewhere like https://pokeflip.com/ to relive some of that nostalgia, for quite some time after watching it.
Pokemon is an 1998 anime series, it is produced by Team Keato and licensed by Viz Media. It is currently available on DVD, and VOD streaming services,
Pokemon has been on the air for nearly two decades, this is mainly thanks in part to the wildly successful video game franchise, of which Nintendo releases dual entries, or a trio of entries every year. Following the story of Ash Ketchum and his trusty Pikachu, he traveks the world in search of both badges and strong Pokemon.
THE GOOD: Although there are only 78 episodes in this collection, it’s filled with fantastic memories that will have you envying your own childhood. Great moments such as Pikachu’s original rebellion towards Ash, their meetings of former gym leaders Brock & Misty, and Ash capturing many of his first few Pokemon are in this set.
THE BAD: The Indigo League Collection isn’t a single casing full of DVDs, but rather the first three Indigo League DVDs complied into a box set. There’s also no Blu-Ray release which is a bit of a downer.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: The Pokemon Indigo League collection brings us the amazement of the first season in this long running anime. While it might not be a necessary purchase for those who own at least one of the singular DVDs included, for those who don’t if you do some searching and find it at the right price, then you’re in for a good time. I’m still kind of bummed out at the lack of a Blu-Ray release, but the overall enjoyment long time Pokemon fans will get out of this set is more than enough to make up for it. Otaku Dome give Pokemon: Indigo League: The Complete Collection an 85 out of 100.
