One Piece is an 1999 shounen manga by Eichiro Oda, it is published by Shueisha ans licensed by Viz Media. It is available in English in both print and digital format.
With 700+ episodes, over 800+ chapters, and 80 volumes, One Piece has become a long standing manga/anime series that will seemingly never died. In the latest English omnibus, Luffy and his friends traverse to Water Seven, but after several events take place, half the group finds itself captured by the World Government, set to stand trial at Tower of Justice on the Judicial Island. Luffy teams up with the shipwrights of Water Seven & the Franky Family to save his friends.
THE GOOD: One Piece’s Water Seven arc provides a ton of drama and action as Luffy and the Strawhat Pirates take on the World Government and their top mercenaries. After failing to defeat Lucci and his gang, Luffy must rescue his captured comrades as they head towards the Tower of Justice on Judicial Island. The story and action of the Water Seven arc is some of the best produced throughout the manga, and the writing of the plot really shines here.
THE BAD: There’s a bit of filler before the Water Seven arc really gets off the ground.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: The Water Seven arc of One Piece is one of the best canon arcs out right now. With a well written plot and some great action sequences drawn, volumes 40-42 brings One Piece to it’s best. Otaku Dome gives One Piece Omnibus 14 an 85 out of 100.
