Non Non Biyori Repeat is an 2015 Slice of Life Comedy anime, it is produced by Silver Link, and licensed by Sentai Filmworks, it is currently available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
Non Non Biyori is a Slice of Life anime about life in rural Japan, living miles away from the nearest stores and luxuries of a city, the main girls have nothing but each other for entertainment most of the time. Exchange student Hotaru Ichijo must adjust from her previous life in Tokyo to life in the countryside, and gets does just that with her new friends, while getting a crush on one of them.
THE GOOD: Non Non Biyori Repeat starts off with Renge Miyauchi starting first grade and Hotaru transferring in. While I’m not particularly a fan of Slice of Life, I can say that Non Non Biyori Repeat is actually pretty funny. It uses the usually anime comedy tropes, but most comedic anime fans will be able to appreciate them. The main cast are pretty enjoyable so you won’t be short of entertainment throughout its run.
THE BAD: Nothing in particular.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Non Non Biyori Repeat is a hilarious slice of life comedy about grade school kids adjusting to rural Japan. Living in a rural part of America myself, I could actually relate to the main characters’ lack of entertainment in the countryside, I’ve also lived in larger cities before, so Hotaru’s new adjustment also felt relatable. Otaku Dome gives Non Non Biyori Repeat an 80 out of 100.
