For at least a year now it’s been suggested that a reboot for the Silent Hill and even Castlevania franchises are on the way two members of Konami’s currently (mostly) unused library. While reports were conflicting rumors stated that for Silent Hill, at least one new entry in the series is being worked on by Sony for their Playstation consoles. Some reports stated that Blue Point Studio; a developer that has had a history of remaking some Playstation exclusive titles would be the ones to handle Silent Hills, but that has since been altered to being a remake for Metal Gear Solid. Along with the MGS rumor it was reported that Konami is officially licensing their IP out to developers outside of their company and that not one, but two Silent Hill titles was on the way with one being made by Blair Witch developer Bloober Team. While Konami hasn’t confirmed either of the rumors surrounding their IP other parties seemingly have including a Silent Hill composer that possibly hinted at the franchise’s revival during an interview. The interview had been believed to have been taken down by request from Konami but that was confirmed to not be the case by Konami themselves furthering speculation on the title. As this writing there’s no confirmation on the future of Konami’s library, but considering how long these rumors have been sticking around with new information nearly monthly it’s likely we’ll find some confirmation sooner rather than later.
