In Naruto Shippuden set 26, Naruto, Bee, and the Five Kage are the stars of the show. Being forced to face the reanimated Jinchuriki who are being forced to aide Madara Uchiha, Naruto, Bee, and the Kage struggle to combat Madara and his forces. Bee and Naruto must devise a plan to save everyone from Madara’s grasp, including the very beasts that attempt to kill them. Meanwhile, Itachi and Sasuke face off against Sage Mode Kabuto.
THE GOOD: When Naruto and Killer Bee are sharing some screen time together you know you’re in for a good time. Due to similarities between the two, whenever they’re onscreen they always come off as a genuinely cohesive unit. This time around however, they’re forced to face off against their Jinchuriki brethren. Set 26 features some of Naruto’s best action scenes, and the English dub is still top notch. Madara and his allies continuously finding ways to one up Naruto and his allies, is something that’s rare in shounen anime, and Madara is an awesome villain, so in a way you often times want to root for the guy. The balance between Naruto’s arc with Killer Bee and Sasuke’s arc with Itachi was well placed and never felt like they didn’t belong together.
THE BAD: Nothing.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Naruto Shippuden Set 26 is full of great action scenes and features the dynamic team up of Naruto and Killer Bee. The set also continues Sasuke and Itachi’s arc that’s been seen throughout most of the two anime series. Set 26 is fairly entertaining throughout it’s 13 episode run, so if you have an afternoon to kill go for it. Otaku Dome gives Naruto Shippuden Set 26 an 89 out of 100.
