The first four Naruto Shippuden films are now available on Blu-Ray in a brand new 4-film collection. Featuring the first film, Bonds, The Will of Fire, and The Last Tower, Naruto Uzumaki’s cinematic adventures can now be viewed in beautiful HD for the first time.
Naruto Shippuden is a 2007 shounen anime series, it is produced by Studio Pierrot, and licensed by Viz Media, it is currently available on DVD in English.
Editor’s Note: A review copy of Naruto Shippuden: Rasengan Collection Blu-Ray was provided by Viz Media.
The first four out of eight Naruto Shippuden films come to Blu-Ray in a brand new collection. Naruto and his friends face off against multiple threats in this set including an evil spirit, The Land of Sky, a possible new Shinobi war, and even time travel.
THE GOOD: It’s great for those looking to start a Blu-Ray collection for Naruto Shippuden with the only Blu-Ray versions thus far being “The Last” and “Boruto: the Movie”. And for the price it’s a solid way to keep a Blu-Ray collection going until Viz decides when to release the anime itself on Blu-Ray, similarly to Bleach and now Pokemon. As for the films themselves like most anime movies these are basically extended episodes of Shippuden (The Last & Boruto are thus far the only canon films).
THE BAD: This set will likely only appeal to those looking to increase their Naruto Shippuden collection for that sake alone. The films aren’t necessarily awful, but as previously stated they’re essentially extended episodes.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Naruto Shippuden: Rasengan Collection won’t be forever, especially for those aware of how TV anime films are usually done, but if you want to get a jump start on your Shippuden Blu-Ray collecting then Viz is going in a good direction. Otaku Dome gives Naruto Shippuden: Rasengan Collection Blu-Ray a 70 out 100.
