During a Monster Hunter event this past weekend in Japan, Capcom announced that Monster Hunter 4 will be receiving an new updated version in the form of Monster Hunter 4G. Much like how Monster Hunter 3G was to Monster Hunter 3, this new version of the game will feature new monsters and equipment added to the original experience. It was also revealed that the west would also be receiving a release of this updated version and it will be titled Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. Unlike Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, there will only a release for the 3DS/2DS handhelds, and there are currently no plans for a Wii U release.
Monster Hunter 4G will be released in Japan in late 2014. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will be available for the west in early 2015.
