Limitless and Bradley Cooper’s character Senator Morra returns in a brand new sequel TV series of the same name. Taking place sometime after the film, season one of Limitless focuses on character Brian Finch, a young man going no where, until he’s approached by Senator Morra (again played by Cooper) about the “miracles” of the NZT drug. As in the film, the drug gives Brian the ability to use all one-hundred percent of his brain, and become smarter than the average human. Once the FBI catches wind, Brian is thrust into a world he never imagined.
Limitles is an 2016 science fiction, comedy drama series, it is produced by Relativity Television and distributed by CBS Studios. Season One has recently completed it’s run of twenty-two episodes.
If you’ve seen the film of the same name starring Bradley Cooper, then you should already come into your viewing of the Limitless TV series with moderate expectations, or at the very least with an open mind. That being said, the surprise involvement of Cooper reprising his role as Senator Morra; not as a protagonist lead, but the series main antagonist is one of the many elements that makes Limitless such a special TV series.
THE GOOD: Limitless features an upbeat energy and a fantastic cast that really get into the plots and scenery. The unique comedy actually provides some laughter and never drags the episode plot down, in fact in most cases they enhance the episodes. The series doesn’t go too dark. but when it does it’s never too intense. In one episode some rather dark elements were replaced with a character reminiscent of Barny.
THE BAD: No resolution for the Morra story, though this is likely saved for a potential second season.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Limitless is perhps one of if not the biggest TV surprises of the year. With a great cast, excellent performances, and an fantastic supporting role by Bradley Cooper, Limitless will become a fan favorite TV series (and possible cult hit) for years. Otaku Dome gives Limitless Season One an 89 out of 100.
