Last year in honor of the franchise’s 35th anniversary Nintendo officially announced the heavily rumored 3D Mario collection for the Switch. The Super Mario 3D All-Stars Collection would feature Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy together in one package. The problem of course was that this package was bafflingly announced a limited time deal celebrating the aforementioned anniversary. This lead to the “Mario is Dead” meme that took over the internet as Nintendo confirmed that both physical and digital copies of the set would cease production on March 31, 2021 which is tomorrow. Nintendo has since confirmed that any existing copies of the title will remain on sale until the stock runs and digital codes would still be redeemable well past the end date of the availability. The belief is that Nintendo will sell all three games individually on the eShop once the promotion for the trilogy expires, but as of this writing that hasn’t been confirmed.
