Square has announced the PS4 & Vita ports of it’s popular mobile spinoff Hitman Go:
MONTREAL (Dec. 5, 2015) – Following the highly successful release of Hitman GO for iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices, Square Enix Montréal announced today during PlayStation Experience 2015 that the critically acclaimed turn-based mobile strategy game will be coming to both the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and the PlayStation®Vita system in 2016.
Gameplay will be updated and optimized for both the console and Vita versions, inviting users to experience Hitman GO’s unique turn-based puzzle mechanics seamlessly on each platform. With all in-app purchases removed and newly added trophies for completionists, the game’s 91 levels with a renowned difficulty curve will surely please both new and veteran Hitman fans on console.
“Evolving the legendary stealth franchise from a third-person console action game to a turn-based strategy game for mobile was a unique endeavor but one that has resulted in global praise for the mobile game,” said Patrick Naud, Head of Studio at Square Enix Montréal. “Expanding the audience by bringing the game to Sony’s premier devices was an ideal opportunity and we know the game will continue its growth on these platforms.”
Hitman GO won awards for Best Game Design and Best iOS Game for the 2014 Canadian Videogame Awards.
