Mecha anime series Heavy Object comes home for the epic second half of the first season. In the series, massive war machines known as Objects have rendered conventional and nuclear warfare obsolete. As a consequence, all of the nations within the world have fractured into four coalitions which constantly wage war with one another; the “Legitimate Kingdom”, focused on tradition; the “Capitalist Enterprise”, which values profit; the “Intelligence Union”, focused on knowledge; and the “Faith Organization”, which values religion above everything else.
Heavy Object is an 2015 shounen anime series, it is produced by J.C. Staff and licensed by Funimation. It is currently available on DVD & Blu-Ray in English.
Continuing where part one left off Heavy Object part two takes place after the destruction of the Break Carrier, and Qwenther & Havia have been tasked to kill the MDC leader Sladder Honeysuckle, however they notice that things aren’t quite as they appear.
THE GOOD: Season one, part two continues on a more serious note compared to part one’s silliness with the wedding plans. We begin things with the attempted assassination of Sladder Honeysuckle and his supposed escape attempt, however Havia & Qwenthur soon realize that a potential 4-way battle may be ensued. After Sladder’s eventual capture the duo attempt to destroy the remaining Objects.
THE BAD: Nothing in particular.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Heavy Object’s second half provides a ton of action for season one with a continuing plot. The ecchi is as strong as ever for fans of the genre, and it can be pretty funny. The story is solid if you’re into military scenarios. Otaku Dome gives Heavy Object: Season One, Part Two Blu-Ray a 77 out of 100.
