WarnerMedia and Warner Bros. Pictures have revealed that the long-desired Zack Snyder version of Justice League will be released in full on their upcoming streaming platform HBO Max sometime in 2021. Originally released in 2017 the film like unfortunately much of the DC Extended Universe was met with commercial and critical failure in comparison to films from rival Marvel Cinematic Universe. With many criticizing the direction of the film and its characters. Director & writer Joss Whedon was brought on board in an attempt to “fix” Snyder’s version which was reported as an “unwatchable disaster” and the former ended up being what was released to the public. There were a number of changes from the finished film and Snyder’s version including the movie being four hours and Darkseid being the main villain over Steppenwolf. A lot of Snyder’s version was fully produced while many scenes remained unfinished prior to Whedon taking over. This would lead to a change in direction for the DCEU with a shift in focus on solo films over a would be universe of characters. A fan campaign for the release of Snyder’s version of Justice League would begin for the next three years with many feeling that it was possibly the superior version of the movie after several leaks were released on the direction.
