HBO has announced a couple of release dates for upcoming products:

Award-winning writer and director Jennifer Fox delivers a film based on her own childhood in The Tale, available for Digital Download on July 2nd. Premiering to rave reviews at Sundance 2018, the HBO film, starring Laura Dern (HBO’s Big Little Lies), is “an immense, brave and genuinely earth-shaking self-portrait” (Indiewire)

Based on Fox’s own haunting and shocking story, The Tale follows Jennifer (Laura Dern) as she faces life-altering questions after a short story she wrote for school at age 13 forces her to re-examine her first sexual relationship. Puncturing the insidious workings of unchecked power, she lays bare the mechanisms of memory – refashioned over time by a growing girl in order to not only survive, but to prevail.

“A landmark advance in the field of cinematic memoir,” (Variety) The Tale also
stars Isabelle Nélisse, Elizabeth Debicki, Jason Ritter, Frances Conroy, John Heard, with Common and Ellen Burstyn.

LOS ANGELES, June 20, 2018 – HBO has entered into a deal with Charlamagne Tha God to bring his distinctive voice to the network in a series of four interview specials, it was announced today by Nina Rosenstein, executive vice president, HBO Programming.

“Charlamagne brings a provocative, thoughtful and always honest voice to all of his interviews,” says Rosenstein. “We think these specials will be surprising and enlightening and we look forward to seeing who he brings to the table.”

“I feel extremely blessed to be able to announce my official partnership with HBO on a new conversation series which will provide a safe space for ‘unsafe’ people to curate their stories and control their own narratives,” notes Charlamagne. “The reality is, when it comes to people’s stories, it’s not black or white, it’s always an area that’s a shade of gray and that’s usually where the lies end and the truth begins, and this show will give those people an opportunity to share their truth. Thank you to my new television home, HBO and all praise is due to god!” says the New York Times bestselling author and co-host of the nationally syndicated hip-hop iHeartRadio program, “The Breakfast Club.”

THE GRAY AREA WITH CHARLAMAGNE THA GOD is executive produced by Charlamagne Tha God and Karen Kinney with the first of four specials scheduled to debut later this year.
