COMEDY SERIES CRASHING, STARRING PETE HOLMES,
DEBUTS FEB. 19, EXCLUSIVELY ON HBO
Pete is a sheltered suburbanite who married his childhood sweetheart and dreams of making it as a stand-up comedian. But when he finds out his wife is cheating on him, Pete’s world unravels, forcing him to reevaluate his priorities and plunging him into the deep end of the rough-and-tumble New York comedy scene.
Starring Pete Holmes, the comedy series CRASHING launches its eight-episode season SUNDAY, FEB. 19 (10:30-11:00 p.m. ET/PT). Holmes and Judd Apatow (HBO’s “Girls”) executive produce the show, which draws on Holmes’ own experiences as a comedian, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the unpredictable world of stand-up comedy. Apatow also directs the first and eighth episode of the series.
After discovering his wife, Jessica, in a compromising position with another man, aspiring but unworldly stand-up comedian Pete flees to the New York comedy scene, where he crashes on other people’s couches, in the process learning hard lessons about life and himself.
Also featured on CRASHING are Lauren Lapkus (HBO’s “Animals.”) as Pete’s wife, Jessica, and George Basil (“Flaked”) as Leif, Jessica’s lover. Among the notables appearing as versions of themselves on the show are Dave Attell, Hannibal Burress, Artie Lange, T.J. Miller, Jim Norton, Rachael Ray and Sarah Silverman.
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 14, 2017 – The comedy series BARRY, starring Bill Hader, will begin production on its eight-episode season in Los Angeles this spring, it was announced today by Casey Bloys, president, HBO Programming. Hader (“Saturday Night Live”) and Alec Berg (HBO’s “Silicon Valley”) serve as co-creators, executive producers and writers on the show, which is slated for 2018 debut on the network.
“From ‘Saturday Night Live’ and ‘Documentary Now!’ to a host of standout feature films, Bill Hader has consistently displayed amazing comedy smarts and impressive range as an actor, producer, writer and, now, director,” noted Bloys. “We are delighted to welcome him to the network for this exciting series.”
Hader stars in the title role as a hitman who, after following his intended target to an acting class, finds himself intrigued and decides to become an actor and change his life. As well as starring in the series, Hader will direct episodes of the show, marking his directorial debut. Other cast regulars include Stephen Root (HBO’s “All the Way”), Sarah Goldberg (“Hindsight”), Glenn Fleshler (HBO’s “True Detective”), Anthony Carrigan (“Gotham”) and Henry Winkler (“Arrested Development”).

In the final season of the Emmy®-winning HBO comedy series GIRLS, created by and starring Lena Dunham, these four familiar friends attempt to get closer to becoming the women they always envisioned – even as life sometimes gets in the way. Judd Apatow, Jenni Konner, Lena Dunham, Ilene S. Landress, Murray Miller and Bruce Eric Kaplan executive produce the show, which kicks off its ten-episode sixth season SUNDAY, FEB. 12 (10:00-10:45 p.m. ET/PT), followed by other half-hour episodes subsequent Sundays at the same time.
In addition to Dunham, who stars as Hannah, the cast includes Allison Williams as Marnie; Jemima Kirke as Jessa; Zosia Mamet as Shoshanna; Alex Karpovsky as Ray; Adam Driver as Adam; Andrew Rannells as Elijah; and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Desi.
Returning guest stars on the sixth season of GIRLS include: Emmy® winner Peter Scolari and Becky Ann Baker as Hannah’s parents; Rita Wilson as Marnie’s mother; Jon Glaser as Laird; Colin Quinn as Hermie; and Corey Stoll as Dill. New guest stars this season include: Riz Ahmed (HBO’s “The Night Of”) as Paul-Louis; Matthew Rhys (“The Americans”) as Chuck Palmer; and Tracey Ullman (HBO’s “Tracey Ullman’s Show”) as Ode.
