As the acclaimed Boardwalk Empire reaches it’s close this year HBO looks to fill it’s void in hopes of fans tuning in to a new slate of shows. Up first is The Leftovers, a new drama by Damon Lindelof & Tom Perrotta. Based on the book of the same name, which was also created by Perrotta, the series follows the story of the mysterious disappearance of 2% of the world, now the remaining 98% struggles to discover what’s to be done about it.
Next is Silicon Valley from the creator of Beavis & Butt-Head & King of the Hill, Mike Judge’s new series follows the titular town where those most likely to succeed are those who can’t handle success. It is loosely based on Judge’s experience as an engineer in the aforementioned town back in the late 80s.
And finally the third new series premiering on HBO is comedy series Doll & Em starring titular characters Emily Mortimer & Dolly Wells. This new series follows the comedic adventures of the two, when one hires the other as her assistant, whom happens to be her best friend, while trying to make a film in Los Angeles, California.
Doll & Em debuts in March, Silicon Valley debuts in April, and The Leftovers debuts in the summer of this year.
