Fairy Tail faces the wrath of E.N.D, and the Tartaros demons in Fairy Tail Part 20. Full of death, murder, and more brutal themes than usual, this is one of Fairy Tail’s darkest arcs. Natsu, Lucy and the gang struggle to defeat their greatest threat to date despite the efforts of their strongest wizards.
Fairy Tail is an 2009 shounen anime series, it is produced by A-1 Pictures, and licensed by Funimation. Itis currently available in English on DVD & Blu-Ray.
Fair warning for those not expecting it, but the first few episodes in this set are filler, thankfully they have at least some link to the canon arc that follows. Following the Tartaros arc, Fairy Tail Part 20 has some themes that are pretty heavy on the dark, including death and murder.
THE GOOD: Part 20 of Fairy Tail begins coverage of what may very well be the final arcs of Hiro Mashima’s popular manga series. The Tartaros arc begins the reveal of the powerful demon E.N.D, as well as the cold heartedness of Zeref and his Tartaros demons. This arc features perhaps Fairy Tail’s best action scenes to date.
THE BAD: Only thirteen episodes in total length.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Part 20 of Fairy Tail is an excellent Blu-Ray set. Dark themes, heavy action, and solid make this arc one of it’s more entertaining, especially compared to the recent filler arc set. It’s a bit odd that this set only includes about thirteen episodes, unless I missed something and this has always been the locked episode count per set. Otaku Dome gives Fairy Tail Part 20 an 87 out of 100.
