Fairy Tail mangaka Hiro Mashima has announced on his official Twitter account that the second Fairy Tail anime sequel, tentatively titled Fairy Tail 2018, will air sometime next year. The original anime series aired beginning in October 2009 and ended in March 2013, a follow up sequel simply titled Fairy Tail (2014) aired beginning in April 2014 and ended in March 2016. No current air date has been announced beyond its release window. A-1 Pictures, the anime studio behind Fairy Tail just recently released the film finale Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry in May of this year in Japan, Funimation Films will release the film theatrically in August in both dubbed and subbed formats.
