In what may be Disney’s most historic move to date reports suggest that Disney is planning to launch an adults only category for it’s streaming service Disney+. Said to be titled “Disney 18+” the new category tier will launch with a Premier Access launch of Black Widow following the continued questionable return of films to theaters as well as R-Rated FOX/Marvel films Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Logan. Disney believe it or not actually has a bit of a history with adult content having owned Touchstone and at one point Miramax. Though this would be the first time the studio would have a hand in original adult rated content coming straight from base Disney. The announcement comes from a supposed trailer that was leaked from a Disney event of some kind. Stock went up for the company following the rumors and reports but their stock has always been a solid investment so looking into how to buy disney stock is always a good idea. The adult tier is reportedly slated to launch in April 2021 with an announcement rumored to be set for Investor Day on December 10, 2020. It’ll be interesting to see if Disney filmed any risque scenes with upcoming MCU shows WandaVision & Falcon & Winter Soldier to entice new subscribers for the new category. It should also be noted that The Mandalorian was recently upgraded from it’s initial PG rating to TV-14 for it’s second season which may have been a test run for the move. The leaked trailer can be seen below:
