This isn’t the first time ramblings of a live-action version of the world renown series was brought up. A Live-Action film was in the works at 20th Century FOX nearly ten years ago back in 2008. The film was to be produced by Erwin Stoff, with Keanu Reeves attached to play main character Spike Spiegel, the original team of the anime from Sunrise were to aide FOX with development of the film if it had went into full production, however the film remained in development hell for years. According to series director Shinchiro Watanabe, the film was still in the works as late as 2014, but he hadn’t personally heard any news on its current development status.
