No this isn’t a late April Fools joke the insanely popular Japanese game is getting it’s own anime scheduled to begin airing this year. Anime news translator @YonkouProductions dropped the shocker on his Twitter account this morning:

Dragon Ball Heroes is a TCG game as well as an arcade game which utilizes the cards for its gameplay. It received three Japan only ports on the 3DS. Heroes is full of fanservice such as SSJ3 Broly, Adult Gotenks, and more recently SSJ4 Gohan. Heroes also has a manga adaptation and the game features anime style cut scenes, it’ll be interesting to see what direction the series takes. For what it’s worth, the Dragon Ball Xenoverse video game franchise & Dragon Ball Super have borrowed elements taken directly from Heroes.
