In a move that should shock literally no one Marvel Studio’s ill-fated midquel film Black Widow has once again been delayed to May 7, 2021. This time however the film will be released alongside theaters on Disney+ as a “Premier Access” title at $30. In addition to the next Marvel film release, Disney also revealed that Cruella starring Emma Stone will be released on Disney+ and in theaters on May 28, 2021 with access to the former also being at a $30 fee. Interestingly, Disney announced that Pixar’s Luca will be skipping theaters all together releasing exclusively on Disney+ with only a subscription to the streaming service being required to watch on June 18. 2021. You’d think given the release schedule hell Black Widow has suffered from having originally being planned for release nearly a year ago it’d be released on the regular service alongside the other MCU Disney+ properties such as WandaVision and the currently premiering Falcon and Winter Soldier. But strangely Disney chose against that option.
