The fast paced second, though only a mere twelve episodes, gets so much covered in such a small amount of time that many will be pleased with the end result that was well worth the wait.

Editor’s Note: This review contains spoilers for Attack on Titan season two.
Attack on Titan returns with key canonical moments from the manga including the debut of the Beast Titan, Christa’s true identity, and the reveals of the Armored & Colossal Titans titan shifters. Season two also features a ton of death, including one of a character close to Eren, Mikasa, and Armin.
THE GOOD: Season two of Attack of Titan is full of thrills, chills, and philosophical ideals. While most of the first half is contrived of a slow build with a big confrontation of a horde of titans in its background, upon reaching episode six, things are turned up to one-hundred. After revealing that Bertolt & Reiner are the Colossal & Armored titans respectively, coming off the heels of Ymir’s own titan shifter reveal, the trio work together to take Eren back to their “home country”, due to Eren possessing a much sought after titan ability the Coordinate; an ability that gives it’s user the power to control titans.
Christa’s Historia reveal, while short was an excellent why to explore her & Ymir’s relationship to one another. A number of characters get a fair bit of character development, including some who don’t make it out of the season in one piece. Season two’s sound design, action sequences, and epic sound track provide the perfect synergy for the series tone & direction.
THE BAD: Pacing is very fast so you may miss some details if you’re not careful.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: Attack on Titan season two is a vast improvement of the hit or miss pilot season. It’s fast pace holds nothing back in the canon to screen direction which the anime continues to follow with great success. Otaku Dome gives Attack on Titan Season Two a 90 out of 100.
