The last of humanity returns in chibi form! In a rather unique take on the otherwise extremely brutal seinen series, Attack on Titan: Junior High takes a comedic approach on the apocalypse that plagues our heroes with enormous man eating titans.

Who would have thought that after its initial anime & manga release, Attack on Titan would inspire the idea of an comedic spinoff? Well that’s exactly what the crew at Production I.G. have cooked up in an rather aspiring way to hold fans up for the eventual release of Attack on Titan Season 2. In this spinoff Eren and his friends take on ordinary and not so ordinary life in cute bite sized fashion.

THE GOOD: Clearly acting as a break/hold up for season two, fans shouldn’t go into Attack on Titan: Junior High, expecting a series as savage and brutal as its predecessor, however, the spinoff is just as entertaining. With a number of characters taking on new personalities in this comedy approach, it provides new insight into some of our favorite members of the Survey Corps.

THE BAD: This series acts as a break for fans to watch as season two was coming, so don’t expect a second season.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: Attack on Titan: Junior High won’t amaze hardcore Attack on Titan fans, however it is a pretty good “hold up” series for season two.
